Mission Statement
The mission of the Crescent Rotary Club Foundation, Inc., is (1) to provide grants for projects that demonstrate creative initiative and leadership by members of the Crescent Rotary Club of Greensboro, or other individuals or charitable organizations, and (2) to leverage projects that members of the Crescent Rotary Club of Greensboro, or other individuals or charitable organizations are asked to support by providing matching funds. These projects can be local, district-wide, or international in scope.
Guiding Principles
It is the vision of the Board of Directors of the Foundation that annual withdrawal of funds from the Foundation be limited to a prudent withdrawal in the 5% to 6% range, to allow the assets to continue to expand for future projects, as growth in the funds can offer future members of the Crescent Rotary Club, or other individuals or charitable organizations, enormous opportunities beyond current expectations. Once the Foundation visibly expands the potential reach and influence in service to others, it may also inspire other members of the Crescent Rotary Club and others to contribute to the Foundation in a generous and meaningful way.
The funding of the Crescent Rotary Foundation, Inc. honors the vision of its founders who wished to support the charitable ideals promoted by Rotary International in a meaningful way beyond their own life span of dedicated service to such ideals. The Foundation calls upon current members of the Crescent Rotary Club and other individuals or charitable organizations to protect and increase these funds in order to expand the funding of the Foundation and further promote those ideals and provide greater opportunities for service in furtherance of the ideals at the local, district and international levels.
The Board of Directors of the Foundation believes it is its responsibility to keep the Foundation's funds invested responsibly, and to be responsive to the requests of the Crescent Rotary Club Board of Directors, and others, in providing funding for selected projects.
